1 out of 5 stars Well...   September 4, 2010

They fit on my ears and they did not look too bad when they were in the box. Thats all the good I can say about this, these headphones are uncomfortable, sound horrible, have no bass at all, and the cord is very cheap, and flimsy. I know these are a 10 dollar pair of headphones, but I expected better from Sony. At least something that sounds like the cheap Apple Ear Buds, because these sound worse than those. Do yourself a favor and stay away from these.

I bought these from my college bookstore.

3 out of 5 stars Comfortable, but not great sound   September 4, 2010

These headphones are pretty comfortable and are nice in that they stay on easily. But the sound seems to only go half into my ears. Maybe my ears are shaped funny, but the speaker seems to be pointed in an odd direction, so that it half goes in the ear and half goes to the outside. I still use them, but am not entirely thrilled.

5 out of 5 stars No More Troublesome Earbuds   August 30, 2010
James H. Demus (Southern California)
I'm one of those people who have no use for earbud-style earphones. The earbuds that are supplied with an iPod are good quality, but I found that they irritated my ears and frequently fell out. I've tried many different styles and brands of earphones over the years such as over the ears, surrounding the ears, earbuds, etc. The Sony MDR-J10 is the style and has the quality that I find work the best for my iPod, personal radio, and even personal listening from my computer speakers.

The sound quality meets my listening expectations and the price, under $10, is easy on the budget. The Sony MDR-J10 earphones are light, versitle, comfortable, and even attractively designed. I've spent a lot more in the past for earphones that claimed higher sound quality but really don't deliver significantly better sound. The Sony MDR-J10's are a great value for the average listener and again prove that spending more doesn't necessarily get you more.

5 out of 5 stars great for running   August 30, 2010

these are pretty much the only headphones ive ever used that stay in my ear while running, working out, etc.

These are great for working out at the gym. I can not tell you that these are going to give you tremendous sound. The sound is tinny as other reviewers have already noted so if you want true symphonic sound keep on looking. However, if you want a set of headphones that fit, won't hurt your ears (either inside or outside) even if you wear them for hours, and won't fall off your head, these are the headphones for you! Well worth the small investment. I have now used these headphones for about six months. They have really stood up well to daily use. Best investment I ever made in headphones! I have tried a wide range of headphones over the past year in an effort to find some that I can live with when running (I do about 20-30 minutes of exercising, twice per week), using an elliptical trainer, and/or weight lifting (10+ h a week). I wear eye glasses and have had a hard time with ear buds because so they fall out, or traditional over-the-head headphones (slide off when doing situps, etc.). I found out about the Sony MDR-J10 headphones through the reviews posted here on this site and decided to give them a try.
